Sue Clifford, PhD, LPC-S took the leap into the private practice world. She discovered the “ins & outs” of private practice on her own through costly and time-consuming trial and error. There was nobody to turn to for “how-to” guidance and many discouraged them from trying.

NO MORE! Dr. Clifford is passing along her helpful and successful private practice knowledge to other counseling professionals. Learn what to do and what NOT to do.

Learn SPECIFIC how-to info, get a list of resources, and customizable sample forms. Take tests to see if private practice matches your goals and lifestyle. A step-by-step Workbook that takes you through the exciting world of starting a practice is included with the course.

Part I - Covers the "basics" of starting a practice, including a step-by-step plan to guide you through the beginning phase. This is a six-hour course filled with money saving tips. (9:00 am - 4:00 pm)

 Part II - Focuses on accepting insurance in your practice. You are guided step by step from the application process through getting accepted by insurance companies. We highlight the most common "speed bumps" as well as provide strategies to get you rolling right over them! To get you started FAST, you are provided with a contact list (featuring contact phone numbers and web sites) for over 30 of the largest and most common insurance providers in Texas. This two-hour course will begin immediately following Part I. (4:00 - 6:00 pm)

 PART I PARTICIPANTS WILL:

  • Identify your Strengths and how to overcome weaknesses.
  • Take multiple Goal Inventories to see if your lifestyle and dreams match with the reality of private practice.
  • Explore which population(s) you want to work with in your “Ideal Practice" and how to make it happen.
  • Learn how to develop a Marketing Strategy and a Business Plan for your practice.
  • Set financial and growth Goals and learn how to set a realistic Budget.
  • Understand the Hidden Costs involved in with a private practice and how to effectively manage them.
  • Receive a comprehensive Workbook filled with examples, reproducible forms, resources, and important “How To” info to use long after this seminar.
  • Earn 6 hours of Texas LPC CEUs, including 3 hours of Texas LPC Ethics!!


 PART II PARTICIPANTS WILL:

  • Receive a step-by-step guide for applying to and getting accepted by insurance companies.
  • Learn the ins and outs of insurance to see if this is a path that works for your practice.
  • Learn to take the frustration out of the application process.
  • Earn two hours of Texas LPC CEUs.
